Lagos Filling Stations & Short Fuel

How possible is it for filling stations' sales people to turn away from short-servicing their customers after collecting money for the supposed services?

In several branches of Oil and gas marketing brands, otherwise known as filling stations, it has been impossible to drive in and not get short-serviced on petrol fuel purchased from one of their pumps.

On various occasions, I have bought fuel that comes to half the gauge reading for the value that I requested to buy. When challenged, the sales person queries if I saw and confirmed the pump reading as correct or not.  This has severally happened on, at least, one pump of a brand that I used to trust;

1. Oando PLC, Maryland
2. Oando PLC, Ajah Lagos
3. Forte Oil, Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi, Lagos
4. Mobil, Awolowo Road, Lagos
5. Total Nigeria, Awolowo Rd. Ikoyi

Most times, I try to wonder why these things happen. Then, I realized that I patronize them very early in the morning and very late at night, when going to and returning from work at about past 5am and 9:40pm, respectively. Maybe I'd buy mostly during the day. I understand there are often officials that check to ensure pump settings meet certain marks.

Most of the times, we might not be  conscious of the acts that have been perpetrated but you can quickly be called to check by certain behaviours that the attendants momentarily exhibit. Below are things to lookout for:

1. Sales commencement before asking the customer for the value to sell
2. Hurrying the customer to drive away to create room for the next customer shortly after sales
3. Other free sales attendants redirecting customer to another attendant - that particular person could have a doctored pump
4. Attendants that usually sell to bikes and gallons have doctored pumps as their usual customers don't normally have gauges to check the actual value bought.

...I realized that I patronize them very early in the morning and very late at night, when going to and returning from work at about past 5am and 9:40pm...

Now, my question is:

Should this ever happen? And I also don't know if it is also noticed by others, even in other parts of the country too.

Kim K Designer Death Toast

Kris Jenner, the Kardashian Momma, took her girls to train on rifle use when their store the ‘D.A.S.H” was vandalized sometimes ago. Kim now has something to show for the training – her possession of a Designer Yves Saint Laurent Hand gun. Picture below:

Would this be tagged Designer Death tool?

She and her sisters have refused to use one in their store, though.

When last did you do a Chemistry test?

Aha! Did you pass it, if you had one recently?

Oh! I think I might be thinking what you are thinking right now. I can bet with my life that your thought would be one of these;
• ”I am a ‘x’-year graduate, why would I need to do a Chemistry test again?”
• “I am not a Science student; I haven’t even ever studied Chemistry, let alone do a test on it”
• “Shwo! This “Alhaji “ guy must be kidding me; abeg abeg abeg, I’m outta here”.
Oya wait first! Before you go. Let me break it down so that you know what I’m talking about.

First, let us see if you even know the definition of the Chemistry sef. Hehehe…even me sef wey do Sciences, I had to think about it wella to be sure I want to do this write up; but it is a BIG yes! I’m sure gonna do this. For real, so that we can be conscious of how well we handle the exigencies and complexities of the course. I can imagine you are still thinking…”What’s the biggie with this Chemistry of a thing, ehn!

Oya, without much “minini”, make we define the thing sef. Lol.

Going by the books, Chemistry is the study of matter and the interactions between them. Okay o. we don know that one now. But for the purpose of this subject matter, I will be focusing on “titration”, which is the act of mixing several soluble chemical substances to arrive at another, through what is called a reaction. Ehn! You are correct. You just thought aloud….and I heard your mind say “chemical reaction”…and that is very correct… So, my simple way of depicting titration is “adding something to something to lead to another”; and in chemistry, it is often a higher state that is arrived at. I call it a state of “highness”.

These Lagos Night Crawlers

Working late one night, at about 10:20pm, in Victoria Island where my office is. I decided to stroll down to an eatery as it was running late and I had to hurriedly catch up with the most likely restaurant that would be open at that ungodly hour of the night. I headed for Mama Cass restaurant, on Ajose Adeogun street, Victoria Island – so that my bele no go give me trouble for night. I made for the street and walked the walk. As I made my way out of Amodu Tijani Close into Sanusi Fafunwa street, a car immediately pulled over to drop off this girl…she looked so unkempt and disgustingly uninteresting for a woman. Mpshewwwww! A thought ran through my mind – “ Ashi ni”, translated as “She’s a prostitute”. I continued on my quest to sort my already raging bowel worms (Ascaris) out – I couldn’t wait any longer to eat and go back to work. After which I would have my deserved sleep.
